DirectorSeat Terms of Use
Effective November 2, 2026
These terms are between you and Ege Hazar, the developer of DirectorSeat ("we"). The app itself is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula). These terms add the rules for DirectorSeat's own services: AI-written plans and shot chat, Film Passes and actor pages. Where the two differ, the one more favourable to you applies. Apple is not a party to these terms.
1. Who can use DirectorSeat
You must be at least 18 to use DirectorSeat. Its plans and shot chat are written by an AI model from Anthropic, and Anthropic requires products used by people under 18 to add child-safety safeguards, such as age checks and content filtering, that DirectorSeat isn't built to provide. It isn't about mature content.
2. What DirectorSeat does
DirectorSeat writes a plan for your short film with AI (Anthropic's Claude, reached through our server), guides you while you film, and assembles and finishes the film on your iPhone. Before anything you type is sent to the AI, the app asks your permission; the Privacy Policy explains what is sent and why.
3. AI-written plans
Plans, dialogue, suggestions and shot chat are written by AI, and the app says so. They can be wrong, odd or unsuitable. Don't rely on a factual statement in them (about a place, a rule, equipment or safety, for example) without checking it: it may be false, incomplete or out of date. You are the director: read the plan before you shoot, change anything, and use your own judgement, especially about safety. Don't film anything dangerous because a plan suggests it.
4. Your content
Your ideas, plans and films are yours. You allow us to send the text you write to our AI provider only to produce and revise your plan (see the Privacy Policy). We don't claim any rights in your films, which never leave your phone unless you share them.
The music in DirectorSeat was made for the app. You may use it in the films you make with DirectorSeat and share those films anywhere, including on social media and for money. You may not take the music out of a film to use or share it on its own.
5. Filming people and places
You're responsible for what you film and share. Ask everyone who appears in your film before you film them and before you share the film, and for anyone under 18, ask a parent or guardian too. Don't record anyone in a private moment without their knowledge, and follow the law wherever you film: ask before filming in private places, or in public ones that need permission. Your takes and films stay on your iPhone; we never receive them. Don't use DirectorSeat to create anything unlawful, harassing or harmful, or anything that breaks Anthropic's usage policy.
6. Purchases
- Planning, filming and exporting with a DirectorSeat watermark (a small mark in the corner and a 2-second end card) are free.
- Your first film's clean export, without the watermark, is free, once per iPhone.
- After that, a Film Pass buys one clean export of one film. Film Passes are one-time In-App Purchases through Apple, sold one at a time or three at a time ("3 Films"). There is no subscription.
- A pass, like the free first export, is used only once the clean film has been saved. If the export fails, it stays yours. A film exported clean can be exported again, clean, at no cost.
- Film Passes don't expire. They are kept on your iPhone; unused passes survive deleting and reinstalling the app, and move to a new iPhone restored from an encrypted backup. Used passes can't be restored.
- Film Passes are sold by Apple through the App Store (in Türkiye by Apple Distribution International Ltd., the seller of record), which takes payment, issues the receipt and decides refunds (reportaproblem.apple.com).
- A Film Pass is digital content delivered to the app as soon as you buy it, so the right of withdrawal (cayma hakkı) doesn't apply to it (Distance Contracts Regulation, Article 15(1)(ğ)). This doesn't affect your rights if a pass or the app is defective: contact us or Apple.
7. Changes and availability
We may change or stop parts of DirectorSeat, including the AI features, for example if our AI provider changes its service. If we change these terms in a way that matters, the app shows you the new version and asks you to accept it, and it applies to you only once you have.
8. Disclaimers and liability
DirectorSeat is a creative tool. Plans are AI suggestions, and we can't promise any particular result from your film, or that the AI will always be available. We're responsible, as the law provides, for loss or damage we cause. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any consumer right the law doesn't allow to be limited, including your rights if the app or a Film Pass is defective.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you normally live, and nothing here limits where you can bring a claim. In Türkiye you can apply to the consumer arbitration committee (tüketici hakem heyeti) where you live or where you made the purchase, for disputes under the limit the Ministry of Trade sets each year; above it, to the consumer court (tüketici mahkemesi), after mandatory mediation.
